Wine
Welcome to our organic, biodynamic and natural wines section.
When you choose the drink an organic or natural wine, you are choosing a wine made in accordance with the first principles of winemaking, which involve primarily grape juice, yeast (natural yeast in the case of natural wines) and time!
Wondering what the difference is between Organic, Biodynamic, and Natural wine?
Organic wine is made from organically grown grapes from a certified organic vineyard that follows strict farming guidelines. This means it’s produced using grapes grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilisers, making it a cleaner choice than conventional wines that can contain chemical residues.
Biodynamic wine goes a step further than organic, treating the vineyard as a living, holistic ecosystem. Biodynamic farming follows natural cycles such as lunar phases and uses composting and herbal preparations to nourish soil and vine health. The result is wine that is completely free from synthetic chemicals and has a strong sense of place and vitality.
Natural wine focuses on minimal intervention both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Grapes are typically organic or biodynamic, but the key difference is how the wine is made: native yeasts are used for fermentation, additives are avoided, and sulphites are kept to an absolute minimum (or not used at all). This hands-off approach allows the wine to express the grape, the land, and the vintage as naturally as possible — sometimes a little wild, but always full of character.
