I’ve written about mineral vs chemical suncreams before - but every year I’m shocked by the number of my friends and family that still use chemical sun creams, seemingly unaware of the dangers they pose to human and marine life.
The global sun cream market is huge, and unfortunately, most suncreams are made using a cocktail of chemicals like oxybenzone (a known hormone disruptor), octinoxate (banned in some places due to environmental concerns), and octocrylene (linked to the production of free radicals and damage to coral reefs) to name just a few.

Finding My Skin’s New Needs
A few years ago, a good friend (and skincare aficionado) gently told me that my skin looked a bit dry. This was a surprise - I’d always had low maintenance skin that didn’t need much fussing over. But she was right, and that was a wake-up call.
It turned out that my skin was changing and needed more nourishment, so I dived into skincare with renewed focus.
Now, after plenty of experimentation, I can feel and see the difference, and I love it.
