You CAN have amazing quality natural products for hair and body without paying over €13 for any one product. Sound impossible? Just ask our staff! They shared their budget beauty faves so you’d be sure to know about these 9 absolute steals…

1. Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil - €6.95

A little wonder that can be used for practically everything.

Coconut oil is solid at room temp, but it melts quickly with the heat of your hands.

Use coconut oil all over your face and body as a moisturiser. We also know of people who use it on their hair to tame frizz - simply massage the tiniest amount into the tips of your hair.

Another lovely use is to create your own scented body oil by adding a few drops of essential oil to melted coconut oil. You can experiment with so many different essential oils, but we think organic lemongrass is a great one to start with.

2. Avalon Organics Nourishing Lavender Hand & Body Lotion - €10.23

You could easily spend a fortune on an organic body lotion, but there’s absolutely no need.

Avalon Organics Nourishing Lavender Hand & Body Lotion, loved by our team member Saruna, softens even extra-dry skin, provides long-lasting hydration, and feels way more indulgent than it costs.

The natural lavender scent soothes while plant lipids and nutrient-rich beta-glucan restore the skin’s natural lipid balance. So your skin feels nourished, resilient and - most importantly - pampered.

3. Skoon Solid Shampoo and Solid Conditioner Bars - €7.95

Christine on our team swears by Skoon Solid Shampoo bars, particularly the one for Volume and Strength

‘My hair has never felt better,’ Christine says. ‘I’ve worked out that a bar should last nearly a whole year when I use it once a week. I also love that they’re zero-waste.’

Pair the shampoo bar of your choice with Skoon’s Solid Conditioner for Moisture and Care. It’s deeply hydrating with argan oil and shea butter, but also gentle enough for sensitive scalps or colour-treated hair.

4. Weleda Skin Food - €7.40

If you keep up with celebrity news, you may have heard the likes of Julia Roberts and Adele are big fans of Weleda Skin Food.

But more importantly to us, we’ve tried this ‘little green magic tube’ and we love it!

Eithne from our team says, ‘I love Skin Food for dry skin on my hands, feet… anywhere really! It smells divine and leaves my skin feeling great.’

What makes Skin Food game changing for dry, rough skin? It’s thanks to the extracts of gentle viola tricolor, calendula, and chamomile, all blended in a rich, thick base of skin-loving oils and beeswax.

Looking for a lotion that isn't as thick? Hannah recommends Weleda Skin Food Light.

'It can be used for the face, so when I was at Rachel's recently I tried it as a facial moisturiser. For me, the normal Skinfood would be too rich to use on my face. But Skin Food Light was just right, and the citrus scent was lovely.'

5. Warrior Deodorant Cream - €12.50

Made in Ireland

If you’ve yet to try the handmade deodorant creams from Warrior, you’re in for a treat.

The beautiful scents, like Lavender, Geranium & Eucalyptus, bring much-needed luxury to the act of applying deodorant.

Warrior comes recommended by Ceri from our team. ‘They’re Irish made (in West Cork, actually!), and they’re so effective and of great value - they last and last.’

We also love that each cream is made with earth-friendly ingredients and comes in a reusable tin… a must-have for your zero-waste body care routine.

6. The Soapbox Project Solid Shampoo/Conditioner Bars - €8.00

Made in Ireland

Another zero-waste essential!

The Soapbox Project’s shampoo bars are made locally, and they do the work of 2 in 1, as each is both a shampoo and conditioner… especially brilliant if you want to simplify your hair care routine.

Each bar is 100% vegan and reef-friendly and contains no silicone or sodium lauryl sulphate. Whereas the pure essential oils they do contain make them pretty spectacular.

And it’s not just us who think so…

We have lots of happy customers who are hooked on these shampoo bars.

7. Palm Free Irish Soap - €2.95

Made in Ireland

One of the best budget beauty saves we can suggest is that you ditch shower gel and start using soap. (Not only saves you €€€, but saves plastic bottles from ending up in landfills.)

And for making the switch, we can’t say enough good things about the lovely sustainable soaps from Palm Free Irish Soap

They’re great value, handmade, Irish made, and zero waste.

To treat yourself, go for the rosewater soap. They blend in actual ground dried rose petals. What’s more indulgent than that?

8. Dr. Bronner’s Castile Liquid Soap - €10.55

If ever we ended up stranded on a deserted island, this is the soap we’d want with us.

The Dr. Bronner’s Castile liquids can be used for so many things - face wash, body wash, makeup removal, hair care, foot soak, washing up, laundry, mopping, all-purpose cleaning spray, dog wash, plant spray…

Once you know the proper dilution for each use - which Dr. Bronner’s lists in this handy cheat sheet - there’ll be no stopping you!

And because you’ll only need the tiniest amount of castile liquid per use, one bottle is going to last you a long time.

9. Atlantic Aromatics Massage & Body Oil - €9.95

Irish product

Add instant indulgence to your day by massaging in a body oil straight after a bath or shower.

A body oil relaxes the muscles, nurtures the skin, and lifts the senses.

We love this Detox Massage & Body Oil from Irish company Atlantic Aromatics.

It's a lively and cleansing blend of sweet almond oil, juniper berry, and citrus. You'll feel like you're having a spa experience every day of the week.
