1. Doctor Mahers Vitalize Cleansing Bar - €7.95

This is not a soap - which tends to dry out and irritate the delicate skin of the face - but a cleansing bar packed with nourishing plant oils and antioxidant-rich sustainable seaweeds and fruits.

It’s good for irritated skin, including skin affected by acne, psoriasis or eczema, and it’s just as effective for normal or dry skin. 

The bars are so dense each one lasts for months and makes a great addition to a zero-waste beauty routine.

2. Lavera Cleansing Milk 2 in 1 - €11.07

Loved and recommended by our shop manager, Fleur, Lavera’s cleansing milk is perfect for gently removing makeup and cleansing the face at the end of the day. It can even remove stubborn eye makeup, simply saturate some cotton wool and gently wipe the eye area. 

This cleansing milk is packed with skin-loving organic oils, including jojoba and sunflower seed, that moisturise the skin while cleansing deep into the pores.  

It’s mild enough for sensitive skin and effective for normal skin as well.    

3. Skoon Konjac Sponge - Pure Natural - €4.95

Boost your zero-waste cleansing routine with this reusable facial sponge made of hydrating plant fibres that are naturally high in antioxidants. The sponge gently exfoliates the face, using no other ingredients except water, and is even safe to use for sensitive skin. 

Each sponge lasts 4-6 weeks when used a few times a week in the shower, and can go straight into the compost when you’re finished with it.

4. Atlantic Aromatics Organic Rosewater - €7.95

Once you’ve cleansed your face, the next step of a solid beauty routine is to tone. You could spend a fortune on a fancy toner, but really you need nothing more than a simple, yet undeniably luxurious, organic rose water.  

Rose water lifts away dead skin cells and clears clogged pores as it hydrates and improves the overall tone of the skin.  

This rose water has a lovely fragrance, it’s completely free of preservatives, and its cooling effect works for every skin type. Use it after cleansing and before moisturising, or spritz on anytime during the day to give your skin a refreshing drink.    

5. Atlantic Aromatics Organic Rosehip Seed Oil - €10.94

This is a wonderful way to start using rosehip oil on your face without breaking the bank. The oil naturally contains bundles of antioxidants, including vitamin E, polyphenols and anthocyanin, that have anti-inflammatory effects and protect against free radical damage.

This rosehip oil is organic, cold-pressed, and a lovely rich red colour which tells you that the quality is excellent. Hannah likes how the dispenser makes it a cinch to use, even during a busy morning.

6. Urtekram Organic Aloe Vera Gel - €8.08

If you thought aloe vera gel was only for burns, think again. (But don’t get us wrong, it is amazing for burns.) This organic aloe vera gel contains hyaluronic acid - that darling of the beauty world for the way it attracts moisture into skin cells and seals it in. 

Hannah loves to use this gel as her nighttime moisturiser after cleansing her face. As she says, ‘There is a theory that if you don't put oil or cream on your face in the evening, your skin generates its own oils, and I find that works for me.’ But don’t stop there, this gel also makes a lovely serum to prime your face for makeup in the morning.

7. Lavera Basis Sensitiv Organic All-Round Cream - €9.95

Another product loved by Fleur, the organic all-round cream is deeply moisturising for the face as well as any dry areas of the body, especially the elbows and heels.

Its formula is gentle on sensitive skin, containing nourishing organic jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, and shea butter which hydrate and protect.

Use it in the morning to moisturise your face for the day ahead, and keep the reusable tin for stashing away all the bits and bobs that accumulate in the bathroom.

These two skincare products don’t make the  €12 and under crew, but they deserve a mention since they’re both great steals. They’re under €20 each and way under the price tag of €60+ you could easily find yourself paying for a premium facial oil or moisturiser that offers the same benefits. 

1. Fushi Organic Camellia Oil - €16.66

This facial oil is another of Fleur’s favourites for the way it hydrates her skin which she says is on the dry side. Organic and lightweight, the oil penetrates quickly and deeply, leaving the skin moisturised without a greasy feeling. 

The oil contains a rich source of natural antioxidants, including vitamins A, B, C, E, and polyphenols, that safeguard your skin from the damaging effects of sun exposure, pollutants, and free radicals. 

And if you decide to use it on your scalp and hair as well as your face, you’ll find it softens and smooths your strands.

2. Green People Vita Min Fix 24-hour Cream - €16.89

Like a multi-vitamin for your face, a little of this concentrated moisturiser goes a long way. Our team member Ailbhe loves it, saying it’s a really good product that’s underrated and often missed. 

The hypoallergenic formula is packed with rich skin-nourishing ingredients like evening primrose, avocado, green tea, seaweed, sqaulane, and rose geranium to plump and soften the skin and offer protection on a cellular level.
