Organic Caora Fíniúna Waterford Red Wine Reserve 750ml
This award-winning organic red wine is a balanced blend of Rondo and Regent grapes, harvested in mid-October and honored with a silver medal at the 2024 Blas na hÉireann Awards. Crafted using a mix of traditional and innovative techniques, part of the wine is fermented on the skins in open vats for 12 days, while the other part undergoes carbonic maceration. The free-run juice is collected separately from the gently pressed juice to preserve depth and character.
This expressive ‘terroir’ wine offers medium-full flavors with subtle hints of wild blackberry and bay leaf. It is soft and fruity on the palate with a well-structured tannin profile, making it a versatile choice for both casual and refined settings.
It pairs beautifully with traditional roast meats, whether red or poultry, and is a superb companion to grilled salmon or sea trout. It also complements traditional Irish farmhouse cheeses with ease.
Directions
- Open and decant two hours before serving.
- Serve at 18–19°C in wide Burgundy-style glasses.
- This unfiltered wine contains natural sediment—decant carefully.
- Sediment can be used to enrich gravies or sauces.
