These barley grains are grown biodynamically. Biodynamic goes a step further than organic. Demeter certified farmers meet extra high requirements for animal welfare and soil management. Crop rotation is essential for a resilient soil. By growing the same crop in the same place a maximum of once every five years, the soil remains resistant to diseases. Grain is a favourite crop in crop rotation: the deep root system makes the soil nice and airy. In addition, straw is a comfortable bedding for animals in the stable and straw manure is gold for the soil. 

Directions

Soak 75 g of barley per person with 500 ml of water and possibly herbs overnight. Bring the barley to the boil with the water. Let the barley cook for 20 minutes. Add salt to taste. Let it soak for 3 hours.
