Our Shipping Policy
Seasonal Update: Due to the high volume of parcels going with An Post, shipping is taking 2-3 days rather than next business day; also we very much hope order placed up to the 18th December will reach you before the 25th, but after that, it's with the gods! We aim to dispatch within 2 working days of receipt of your order, providing all items are in stock (we nearly always dispatch on the day we get your order, but this is not always possible, so please always leave a couple of days). Although most orders are delivered next day after they leave us, please allow 3-4 days for delivery to allow for weekends, bank holidays and occasional mishaps. We ship with An Post, so once you have had a notification that your package is on its way please do try to be available to meet your Postperson to collect it.
For orders from our bulk and multi-buy category we may need a day or 2 extra to dispatch your goods; we will stay in touch throughout the process to make sure you know when to expect your goods. We can only send up to 25kg in one box, hence if you are availing of free shipping we ask that you try and keep your order under 25kg in total weight.
If your order is very urgent, please call us on 027 51391 or email us on organicobantry at gmail.com. Next Day is often possible.
We don't dispatch fresh Organico Bakery items or other perishable food items on Fridays or Saturdays as the transit time for those items would mean they would not arrive in prime condition.
Our Packaging Policy - As Green as we can Be!
In our packaging, as in everything else we do, we’re keen to be as ‘green’ as possible. Many of our customers share this aim, with the goal of Zero Waste in their sights – and often contact us to enquire about the packaging we use. We hope this note will answer any questions you may have.
Our primary aim is to deliver our products to you intact and in the best condition. We use a variety of boxes, bags, packaging fillers and wraps to ensure this happens; it’s not perfect but we keep trying to get the right balance between low waste and practicality.
Small items are sent out in new padded enveloped, which we find to be strong and reliable. These can nearly always be reused if you wish to!
For the larger orders, we re-use boxes from our Suppliers. We will also, occasionally, reuse polystyrene loosefill or bubblewrap from our suppliers as packaging, rather than throw it away. We never buy these types of packaging.
Prepacked wholefoods (eg the 250g and 500g bags) are normally in plastic or cellophane. The compostable plastics are simply not strong enough yet and some contain GM material too.
We do constantly review the amount of packaging we use, trying to strike the right balance between over-packaging and avoiding breakages.
