Marta Swierad and Catherine Weld Exhibition

The next art exhibition at Organico, from 3 May until 11 June, involves two artists who are close to home; Marta Swierad and Catherine Weld both work in Organico, Marta baking delicious cakes and snacks for the café and shop, and Catherine preparing the newsletter and working on the online shop behind the scenes.
Catherine also organises the art in the café, and the two of them were involved together in The Art Room, Bantry, in 2013 as well as the Blue House Gallery in Schull in 2014. Catherine says, “I’m delighted that Marta has agreed to show her work again with mine. As well as paintings I’ll be showing some photographs that depict elements of the West Cork landscape not seen on picture postcards and hope that the two strands in my work will complement each other”
Marta is currently studying for an MA in Art Therapy at CIT. Of her painting, she says, “My art comes from an inner need to process and digest my experiences. The healing impact that creativity has had on my life has led me on a journey of exploring the therapeutic potential of art.”
The exhibition opening is on Saturday 7 May at 4pm, there will be wine and all are welcome to come along and meet the artists.
