Who and where we are
Organico Cafe Shop and Bakery is located in Bantry, a small market town in South West Ireland. Bantry is widely known for it’s Friday Market, of which the Fair Days (the first Fridays of each month) are the most impressive. To this market come traders large and small, from olives to chickens to clothes and crafts, plants and home baking. This lends Bantry a buzz not found in many other West Cork towns.
As a small, independent family business Organico is of a rare and dying breed. We are not in a town center location, nor do we have much customer parking. What we can and do offer is dedicated, individual service which depends completely on the passion and energy of our fantastic team of staff, many of whom have been working with us for years.
When Organico was started in the early 1990’s by Alan Dare it was a one-man show, run by Alan with a little help from his (little) daughters, who loved playing shop! Now Organico comprises a shop, a Cafe and a Bakery; and in total employs nearly 15 people.
These include: Liz Ewing, Fleur Hindley and Jaime Dare (shop manager and assistant managers); Sue and Sean Cooper (wonderful bread and cake bakers); Christine, Jo, Carla and Eilish (product advisors and shop floor staff); Sylva, Lauren, Tracey, Geraldine and Jess in the Cafe and kitchen. Many thanks also to Aki and Aoife for invaluable holiday cover.
